The mentorship program was designed to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">To provide personal guidance, encouragement, and support to those who wish to be mentored.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">To foster relationships between mentors and mentees outside of the academic or work setting where a suitable mentor is often difficult to find.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">To help build and support women leaders throughout STEM fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More information about the mentorship program can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/e\/2PACX-1vT1k8fZ4qlimMEsmAb1F2YcFxw52m4wIRpoEx4_rT3AvwP0yseCVcfAqchMkDtX2t3uPAqz12WfWgns\/pub\">here<\/a>. <span style=\"font-size: 1.5rem;\">After filling out a questionnaire, mentees were matched with SWMS mentors based on similar interests. A <\/span>correspondence<span style=\"font-size: 1.5rem;\"> in the form of a penpal like <\/span>relationship was able to form and be beneficial to both the mentor and mentee.<span style=\"font-size: 1.5rem;\"> We hope to expand our mentorship program to other schools.
